The Deli Deals section is one of the most underrated parts of the Wetherspoons lunch menu. All 12-inch wraps and paninis are made fresh to order. Each comes with a drink — or order a 12-inch wrap without a drink for £5.04. The Shawarma Chicken wrap is genuinely excellent: chicken thigh with Middle Eastern spices, Naga chilli sauce and coriander in a large wrap.
8-inch pizzas from the small plates menu are also available as a Deli Deal. This makes the Deli Deals section one of the most flexible lunch options on the wetherspoons lunch menu.
The Deli Deals section is the one I'm always slightly annoyed I forgot about, usually because I've just watched someone else's wrap arrive looking better than what I ordered. These are freshly made 12-inch wraps and toasted paninis, each with a drink included, and they're one of the quickest, best-value lunches on the menu.
The Shawarma Chicken wrap is the star. Chicken thigh with Middle Eastern spices, Naga chilli and garlic herb sauces, tomato, onion, coriander and rocket — it's got genuine flavour, far more than your average pub wrap, and at 739 calories it's a properly filling meal. The Korean Fried Chicken wrap is close behind and a touch lighter at 582 calories.
If you want a wrap without the drink, you can have one on its own for £5.04, which is handy if you've already got a coffee on the go. The paninis are toasted to order and the fillings are a cut above the usual — the BBQ chicken, bacon and Cheddar is the one I reach for. You can add a side salad, spicy rice or chips for £1.59 if you want to bulk it out.
What makes this section genuinely useful is speed and flexibility. The wraps come together fast, so it's a good shout if you're on a lunch break with limited time. The vegetarian and vegan coverage is solid too — the Quorn Nuggets wrap is fully vegan and the halloumi-style wrap is a good veggie option. And because the 8-inch pizzas from the small plates menu also count as a Deli Deal, you've effectively got even more choice than the printed section suggests. For a fast, satisfying, well-priced lunch, this is the part of the menu I should remember more often.
One last practical tip: the deli wraps travel well if you're grabbing lunch to take elsewhere, since they're wrapped tightly and hold together far better than an open plate. I've taken a Shawarma wrap to eat in a nearby park more than once. For sit-in or takeaway, fast or leisurely, this is a more versatile lunch section than it first appears, and the fact that it's freshly made rather than pre-packed is what sets it apart from a supermarket meal deal.
The Shawarma Chicken wrap is the standout. Chicken thigh with Middle Eastern spices, Naga chilli sauce and rocket in a 12-inch wrap — at 739 kcal it's a proper filling meal, and the flavour is far more interesting than your average pub wrap. The Korean Fried Chicken wrap at 582 kcal is the lighter choice. See the full Wetherspoons menu.
